Default Semi-Noob Farmer Question

I'm using an N/Me build I found on here to farm griffons and minotaurs west and south of Augury Rock. When I get into the big open expanse it seems like the griffins are in big packs of 6-8. I can usually take around 5 at a time with somewhat ease, but then when a pack of 3 minotaurs runs in I am screwed big time.

Any way to break up these groups of 6-8?

Actually, do good farmers take out all the minotaurs first? This is getting annoying because I try to take out the minotaurs and guess what stops me? Other minotaurs.

I have no experience farming with a necro build, really cant help u there. But yes I take out the minotaur first. If you stand outside argo of the griffon for alittle while you will notice. actually you will notice as your heading to where the griffon are that the minotaur are patroling. so yes take them out first. As far as seperating them, I edge up til i get one or two into argo and then backup. Most of the time 2-4 will continue to chase you while the rest go back. If you go to far they all stop chasing.

gryphons usually group in packs of 3, 4, maybe 5, or at least that's what they do where i come from :P

you can easely take out mino's before you enter the gryphon area though, which isn't a bad thing to do.

The griffons maybe grouped together in large packs, but they're really in groups of 4. You need to control aggro and pull one mob at a time if you can't handle a large group. Pick a single griffon, preferably the closest and edge to it so it is just in your aggro circle. Walk/run from it a short distance. It and the ones in its pack will chase you. The other mob won't bother you unless you've aggro-ed one of them as well. Moving a short distance away from the point of aggro reduces the chance of the other group wandering into your aggro circle while you're fighting.

As for minotaurs, I usually just take out those that gets in my way. But if I'm already fighting, I don't mind them joining in the slaughter. The minotaurs have specific patrol routes - they run to a certain point, stop, walk about before running off and then returning after some time. Take time to identify these and avoid fighting in their stopping points or running path.

I find the devourers more of a pain than the minotaurs because they spring up from anywhere and can interrupt you.
